Distributed Temperature Gradient Sensing (DTGS)
Combining acoustic (high frequency DAS) and temperature (DTS) monitoring detection into one controller and channel used especially for leak and intrusion detection like on pipelines provides combined results known as DTGS (Distributed Temperature Gradient Sensing) with low frequency DAS (< 1 Hz) and DTS to monitor leaks on one and same channel of a single controller. The main advantage of using DTGS is its sensitivity to small leaks, including the direction of propagation of the leak as well as intrusion events. Other applications requiring the combined monitoring of acoustic vibration and temperature changes can make use of the FOTAS DTGS.
The FOTAS DTGS (Distributed Temperature Gradient Sensing) represents the next generation of fiber optic sensing technologies developed by SAMM Teknoloji. It is engineered to deliver reliable, real-time protection for critical energy, transportation, and industrial infrastructures where early detection can prevent costly damages and environmental risks.
The FOTAS DTGS detects third-party interventions, unauthorized excavations, temperature changes and leaks that may occur along the length of the fiber cable like in a pipeline application all in one package enabling continuous monitoring of both mechanical and thermal anomalies along the asset total length.
DTGS-S-50 | Single Channel
The FOTAS DTGS-S-50 is a fiber optic distributed acoustic and temperature gradient sensing system developed for real-time protection of critical pipelines and infrastructure. With its single-channel design covering up to 50 km, it continuously monitors assets and provides early warnings against security and environmental risks.
The DTGS-S-50 detects third-party interventions, unauthorized excavations, and leaks that may occur along the pipeline. Thanks to acoustic monitoring, it can even track pipeline cleaning tools (pigs), offering operators a complete view of activity around their assets. DTGS technology adds high sensitivity to thermal anomalies, enabling the identification of small, slow-developing leaks that could otherwise go unnoticed.
Engineered for long-term reliability, the S-50 combines sub-meter accuracy with low power consumption and seamless integration into SCADA and security systems. This makes it a proven and practical choice for oil, gas, water, and chemical pipelines, as well as perimeter security applications.
DTGS-D-50 | Dual Channel
The FOTAS DTGS-D-50 is a fiber optic distributed acoustic and temperature gradient sensing system developed for real-time protection of critical pipelines and infrastructure. With its dual-channel design covering up to 50 km on each channel and a total of 100km, it continuously monitors assets and provides early warnings against security and environmental risks.
